From April 23, the day of the first session, to May 7, the last one, a total of 65 short films from more than 20 countries on 5 continents were screened within the framework of the XXI Radio City International Short Film Festival, in addition to the two sessions of Valencian short films that were also programmed. The ABC Park cinemas and the October Center for Contemporary Culture joined Radio City as festival venues.
Films that enhance a festival such as the Goya winner paraded through the festival screens Arquitectura emocional 1959 (Elías León Siminiani), Handbook (Pavel Mozhar), Rosalie et Cesar (Joan Borderie) or Sorda (Nuria Muñoz y Eva Libertad), to cite just a small sample of the variety of proposals that the team led by Natalia Lozano selected to put together this edition.
A consequence of the quality of the selection was the influx of people who came, curious and enthusiastic, to all the scheduled sessions. In Radio City the capacity was full in most projections. A sign that contrary to what the usual doomsayers predicted, cinema in theaters (or in spaces) resists and viewers value going physically to a screening if you offer them something different from what is dozing on the cloned digital platforms.
We were also able to count on several authors who presented their film to us and enjoyed a discussion with the public, such as Carlos Peris and part of his team (Contemplativo), Mario Crisadia (Projects), Gonzalo Gurrea (Sin aliento), Sergi Miralles (producer of Hábitat), David Gaspar (Atrapasueños), Antonio Savinelli (Las cosas que me hacen feliz), Elena Piquer (Adriana en el olvido), Octavio Guerra (Apache), Pablo Quevedo and Nastya Almina (El Chigre) or Ada Tormo, the actress of Nivel Dios, Audience Award Winner. To all of them, thank you. I hope you have felt at home.
And to you who are reading this, we hope to see you in the XXII edition, with the same enthusiasm, curiosity and love for great short-format cinema.
